Remnants of Summer

Her voice,
the fresh raspberries
sink into her lips.

Her hand,
a sugar-coated lemon
squeezing not a drop of juice.

Her forehead,
dry walnut parchment
reflected in a blue water sky.

Her life,
peaches clinging to a tree
its scent its own worst enemy.
